Why We Started
Even in the U.S., with some of the strictest regulations, hundreds of toy recalls still happen every year.
Sometimes it’s the shape. Sometimes the material. Most often, it’s the paint.
Plastic, wooden, even so-called “non-toxic” toys the issues aren’t always obvious. And these are only the ones that get caught.
The ones that don’t, still end up in a child’s hands.
We didn’t want to work around that reality. We wanted a better way to build.
That’s why we started.
What We Built
We knew what we didn’t want chemical paints, synthetic finishes, shortcuts.
We knew we wanted something natural. But getting there took time. A lot of trial, R&D, and rethinking how toys are usually made.
Eventually, we found the right people artisans who could bring this to life the way we imagined.
And that’s how we built our toys. Solid wood. Natural materials. Plant-based colors.
Made in Channapatna
With a clear idea of what we wanted to build, we went looking for the right people to build it with. We found them in Channapatna a small town in India where woodworking has been practiced for over 200 years.
These weren't new craftsmen. Their fathers were craftsmen. Their grandfathers were craftsmen. The skill runs generations deep. They already knew how to work with natural dyes and solid wood.
Their precision, their patience, their knowledge all of it was already there. That's when we knew exactly where Baby Squad was going to be born

Our Promise
We don’t rush this.
We think, test, refine and then do it again.
because we know where they end up.
